We are about to a announce a new (and our first) contest on the next episode of the MCFRS. We call it “Get us Hired, We’ll Hire You.”
Basically, all you have to do is bombard your local FM station with emails and/or calls sending them to our link (www.mattcockburn.com) urging them to hire us. Should we get hired to be on your local FM station, we will get you hired to be a lackey … errrr… producer. We’re serious. Oh and a nice warm climate like Phoenix would be a nice start.
Other desired areas would be San Diego, Albequerque, WJFK in D.C., Honolulu, HI, or Chicago.
And I’m sure most of you would like to help out, but are too lazy to formulate an email for the effort. So, just copy and paste the form below and be sure to fill in the blanks. Thanks.
________,
First I’d like to say I love the programming on your station. Secondly, I would like to tell you about this show I have been listening to. It’s a podcast called the Matt Cockburn Fake Radio Show. I think it’s pretty damn funny and my friends and I, all listeners of _______, think that they would make a great addition to your line-up if you can find the room. They’re younger– in their late 20s and early 30s, I think. Anyway, I’m sure you get emails like this, in one way or another, all the time. So, I guess I’m taking a shot in the dark here, but if you could find the time, give them a listen. Their website is www.mattcockburn.com .
Thanks for your time,
____________
Here’s the email address to a station in Phoenix rhatch@ktar.com . The guy’s name is Ryan.
I’ll add more addresses as I discover them.
Here’s one for
If you don’t hear back from them in a week’s time, keep sending until you do. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. And if they come back with a “no thanks”, keep sending until they change their answer to a “yes, dear listener”. Recruit your friends into it even if they don’t listen to the show.
“Hey, why not?”
Hey Cockburn and gang

P.S. If you get hired, you don’t have to hire me. Listening to your show on air would be pay enough.
